Winners Golden Calves 2024

The Golden Calves 2024 were awarded to the winners, during the final closing event of the 44th edition of the Netherlands Film Festival on the evening of Friday September 27th. Twenty-four makers were awarded the most prestigious awards in the Netherlands for films documentaries, drama series and digital culture productions during the EY Golden Calves Gala at the Stadsschouwburg theatre in Utrecht.
The number of Golden Calf awards has increased this year from 21 to 24. The expansion has led to the inclusion of several new categories, such as the award for Best Director and Screenplay for Drama Series, as well as the Golden Calf Audience Choice Award for Documentary. The evening was hosted by Dutch comedian Soundos El Ahmadi, who, together with professionals from the Dutch film industry, presented the Golden Calves to the winners.

The next edition of the Netherlands Film Festival will take place from Friday September 26th to Friday October 3rd 2025.

: The nominations and winners of the Golden Calves for feature films and feature-length documentaries are determined based on the Academy system. A group of hundreds of professionals and members of the Dutch Academy For Film (DAFF), make their choice and cast their votes, similar to international competitions such as the Oscar Academy Awards, BAFTA and the Césars.
The nominations and winners of the Golden Calves in the categories Documentary Short Film, Short Film, Drama Series and Digital Culture are determined by juries consisting of professionals from throughout the Dutch film industry.
