Volunteers are indispensable to the NFF. Young, old, studying, working and retired: everyone is welcome to participate! About 250 volunteers work in various positions during the festival: from scanning tickets to dressing up festival locations and driving the stars around.

On this page you will find photos, videos and more information about volunteering at the NFF. In 2026, the festival will take place from 25 September - 2 October in Utrecht.

Volunteering at NFF for the first time?

If you have not volunteered at the festival before, we will invite you to an introductory meeting. During this meeting you will get more information about the festival and the different positions you can apply for. Together we will look for a suitable team with activities that suit you.

I have volunteered for the NFF many times over the last 10 years. As a festival volunteer, you meet new people and get the opportunity to see beautiful and fun films. And I get a good feeling when I can make a useful contribution to a bigger picture. That’s why I keep coming back!”
