How did a seemingly normal girl from Zoetermeer become the best-known Dutch person who went to Syria? This drama series depicts in detail why Laura did end up in the caliphate and other girls in similar situations did not.
After the applauded book and play, now there is a drama series about Laura H., the girl that went to Syria. When on 12 July 2016, Laura and her two children escape from the caliphate, she manages to reach the Netherlands. She claims she was kidnapped by her husband, but upon arrival at Schiphol Airport, she is immediately arrested on suspicion of terrorist motives. The authorities question her version of the story. Even her father Eugène– who moved heaven and earth to get Laura home – starts to doubt her.
