Code of Conduct

The Netherlands Film Festival (NFF) is committed to a safe and friendly environment for all staff members, trainees, volunteers, visitors, participants, partners, suppliers and other parties concerned. This code states how we behave toward each other at the Netherlands Film Festival. This applies to everyone who works for us or visits us as a guest.

We embrace diversity and continually improve our work based on assessment and experience.

NFF view on desirable behaviour

We carry out our mission and vision with attention to and consideration for human health, animal welfare and to ensure the smallest possible climate impact. At NFF, we aspire to create a socially secure environment, where people can freely think, talk, explore and create. An environment where everybody is treated equally, without discrimination or distinction between people, exclusion or preferential treatment based on race, skin colour, gender, pregnancy, sexual inclination, identity, civil status, age, religion, political conviction, language, nationality or social position.

Undesirable behaviour

We define undesirable behaviour as power abuse, discrimination, unwanted physical contact, (verbal) violence, harassment and (sexual) intimidation, or behaviour accosting the recipient in a way that causes a problem.

NFF does not accept any undesirable behaviour towards staff members, trainees, volunteers, audiences, partners, suppliers and other parties concerned. We do not accept damage inflicted upon the environment either. In case an infringement of the rules is reported or established, the NFF can take various measures: a formal warning; a request to leave the premises; and/or an official report of the incident.

Confidential advisors

Do you feel bad about something and are you unsure about how to deal with a situation or behaviour. Or you are unable to find a solution or cannot decide what to do? A conversation with one of our confidential advisors can be the next step in solving the problem. Our staff members, trainees and volunteers can refer you to internal and external confidential advisors.

Mores

NFF is connected to Mores, support and advice centre for undesirable behaviour in the cultural, creative and media sector. By joining Mores, our organisation commits itself to actively counteracting transgressive behaviour on the work floor.

Mores provides a safety net to workers and students in the cultural, creative and media sectors. Are (Were) you dealing with transgressive behaviour and are you unable or reluctant to turn to a confidential advisor at your own organisation or client?
