In this autobiographical reverie, Luna wanders through abandoned rooms, trying to fill an inner void. Through dance, she comes to realise that liberation is something she must find within herself.
As she moves through an abandoned building that mirrors her inner emptiness, protagonist Luna searches for something to fill it. She then comes to the realisation that this emptiness isn't meant to be filled, but felt. She frees herself from the empty building, from the layers of clothing she's used as masks, and from the stigma of loneliness. Debut film The Void is a physically expressive, autobiographical portrait by Linde Wagemakers, in which loneliness gradually gives way to a deeper connection with herself.
