My Horrible History Of Handshakes

Director: Julia Veldman C
Julia is a master at dodging awkward greetings, at the cost of keeping others at a distance. Will she manage to let people get close? An animation about the discomfort of physical contact.
Julia's fear of greetings dates back to childhood, thanks to her father's prickly beard. As a result, she decides to avoid all awkward greetings. Such as a wet kiss on the cheek, an awkward high-five, a sweaty hug, or a clammy handshake. But once she's mastered the art of avoidance, in this debut animation, she watches the distance between herself and other people grow. An exploration of the human need for physical contact, and the discomforts that come with it.
