Vogue dancer Elvin Elejandro performs at a Voodoo Carnival Ball, an important dance contest where he has to prove himself to be accepted by the ballroom community.
The biographical story of vogue dancer Elvin Elejandro Martinez is told here by director Jan Pieter Tuinstra and choreographer Keren Levi by combining documentary elements with dramatised dance scenes. He tells about his childhood in Saint Martin and the transformation he went through since. The freedom he used to crave so deeply now seems within reach. Next to Martinez’ autobiographical story, the film tells the gripping, fictional story of an evening at a Vogue Ball. All characters and dancers in the film are members of the European ballroom/vogue community.
