The inhabitants of the city of Yolandia still struggle with life’s big themes, in a mix of absurdism and romanticism. The familiar characters, like the chain-smoking psychotherapist Yolanda, the perverse middle-class guy Uusbief and the egocentric success host Frederik Kaak are reinforced by, for example, the lovesick Kalle and the untalented teenager Winnie, who still hopes to reach super-stardom.
