Every year, a group of boys and girls of around 18 choose to do a Royal Navy Officer training. They enter a world where loyalty and dedication, hierarchy and rituals play an important role. In a calmly observing style, the film follows them during the first months in which they will have to get the better of many weaknesses. What moves these youngsters to leave the familiar civilian society behind? What does this say about them and the times we live in?
