After fleeing the army of Ivory Coast, Cyriaque Kouenou ended up in a vacuum. Returning is no option, but he will not get a residence permit of the Netherlands either. He belongs to the group of Amsterdam refugees who move from tent camp via refugee church to a vacant office building. Although his optimism and impassioned music make his partners in adversity briefly forget their sorrows, singing a subversive song on the radio was what landed him in this situation. Between the musician and the filmmaker, a gripping but fleeting alliance is forged.
