Drama featuring Turkish immigrants in Germany. When a son discovers his father has taken in a prostitute, he is initially sceptical. Until he finds out more about the woman.

Second drama in Fatih Akin’s planned trilogy with 'love, death and the devil' as its theme. Like its predecessor Gegen die Wand (2004), the film deals with members of the Turkish community in Germany. Nejat, a Turkish second-generation immigrant, is somewhat sceptical when his father takes in a Turkish prostitute. His opinion changes when he discovers the woman sends money to Turkey to pay for her daughter’s study. After the woman’s sudden death, Nejat travels to Istanbul to find her daughter.
