Tygo, an eleven-year-old boy from Noord-Brabant, gives a school talk about carnival shortly after moving to Amsterdam. First, he explains to his class what the festivity entails and tells about the brass band he and his father played in. But soon, Tygo’s speech shifts into a moving personal story about his parents, his strong wish to join the drum majorettes and his love for Lara. Although his father always claims everything is allowed at carnival, he also shows Tygo that even then you can take things too far.
