The solitary widower Ward hires the Romanian handyman Doru to paint his house. When Doru suddenly goes missing, Ward takes pity on his 9-year-old son Mihai. In Jorien van Nes’ feature debut, Ward and the little boy travel to Romania to look for Mihai’s mother. Their journey to the Black Sea takes both Mihai and Ward home.
