This is what it is like to be a child of refugees in the Netherlands. Shot at a primary school in Katwijk that wants to offer children of rejected asylum seekers a proper education and a safe haven.
Primary school De Verrekijker in Katwijk accommodates some 150 children from the nearby refugee centre. Their parents are rejected asylum seekers. The school tries to offer them a safe haven and give the children a proper education, but this becomes harder and harder after a series of forced repatriations. The situation gets even more complicated when a group of Syrian children arrives. From the perspective of the pupils and their teachers, the film demonstrates what it is like to be a child of refugees in the Netherlands.
