Born Rotterdam citizens Jaap and Nel Kooiman, Simon Stokvis and Mr. Harmsen make their debut on the silver screen. It is 1974 and the Netherlands have just lost the heroic World Soccer Championship final. Out of pure frustration, Jaap throws the TV set from the window. This event is the overture to a comic family film in which Jaap is on the receiving end. From a mother in law who charges him with murdering her dog to a wife who falls for the charms of her yoga teacher, who is from Amsterdam to boot.
