Documentary about an unusual Tibetan family, some children of which live all over the world. Pema is the only son. He and his sisters grew up in a children’s home in the capital, but now he is expected to return to his native village to take care of his parents. A ten-day hike across the mountains is followed by a cordial reunion, but soon tension mounts. Pema does not want to abandon his parents, but at the same time he wants to build up his own, modern life.
