In experimental film, Sapa and Hija bring back memories of their childhood in Africa. Now that they live in the Netherlands, they find it hard to feel at home and relate to the outside world.

Two friends, Sapa and Hija, tell each other short anecdotes about their childhood in Africa, some of which they re-enact. Since swapping their motherland for the Netherlands, both find it hard to completely feel at home and relate to the world outside their apartment. The experimental film stems from extensive interviews with Sapa and Hija, acting exercises and improvisations. It is part of the triptych Three Studies of Nearness, a project about encounters, intimacy and making films.
