A teacher shows the different faces of Europe to a classroom full of refugees, alternately cold, empathetic and pragmatic. Confrontational film essay about the complexity of the migrants issue.
A teacher shows refugees in a classroom the many faces of Europe. The man receives three groups of migrants, each time adopting a different attitude: coldly and dismissively, then full of empathy and goodwill, followed by a pragmatic attitude according to the Dutch asylum rules. The teacher is played by actor Valentijn Dhaenens; the asylum seekers (and their reactions) are real. On the cutting edge of documentary and fiction, this confrontational film essay examines the ambiguous attitude of Europe and the complexity of the migrants issue. How do we deal with other people’s desire for happiness?
