In Amsterdam, filmmaker Diego Gutierrez’ socially isolated downstairs neighbour dies. There is no farewell, not one surviving relative appears. Gutierrez deems it proper that someone sees the house, before the council services remove and destroy the dead man’s belongings. He invites a few friends to come and look around the jam-packed house. They wonder who this man was and who they are themselves. 'When we’re no longer here, when everything we had has disappeared, will anyone know we were once here?'
