For the last seven years, the financial crisis has been leaving a trail of great unrest and destruction around the world. In America, a public commission is extensively examining the guilt issue. ‘So Help Me God’ are the words many an American banker has pronounced in recent years when taking the oath for one of the commission’s interrogations. Thomas Vroege made a poetic-visual trip across the world of big money and investigates the seemingly untouchable position of bankers. What is going through their minds? What if they lose control? And can they really be empathic?
