What makes a small country great: the Netherlands has almost 1600 miles of motorway. This enormous road density deserves a poetic road movie, with the occasional moan.
This documentary depicts the splendour, but also the seeming triviality of the Dutch motorway network. It turns out to be a factually poorly known arena with a wide range of activities. What does this nearly perfect infrastructure say about our society? This cinematographic ode and grating lament reveals the Dutch nature on the basis of this intriguing, monumental and ever growing network.
