What does daily life in a refugee camp really look like? Fine artist Jan Rothuizen, multimedia journalist Martijn van Tol and photographer Dirk-Jan Visser sized up the situation in Camp Domiz, where Syrian Kurds receive shelter. Collaborating with web developer Aart Jan van der Linden, they incorporated their impressions in a multimedia mix of image, sound and text. Via the interactive map, you are introduced to truant Ahmad, you tag along with the busy circumcision doctor Shixmous and you fall silent when watching Fatma, who dreams of a career as a YouTube singer.
