In the 1960s, a small group of anarchist youngsters puts Amsterdam on the map as the Provo capital. With their ‘happenings’, they provoke and bait the authorities, with harmless demonstrations sometimes leading to violent confrontations with the police truncheon. Within two years, Provo goes down due to its own success, and especially to internal differences of opinion. Archive footage in black-and-white, interviews with the frontmen and street scenes depict the equally fast rise and fall of this protest movement.
