Hester Somsen, the Dutch ambassador in Lebanon, is a woman on a mission. With her Lebanese driver Nader, she traverses the country in an armoured car. Lebanon totters in the volatile arena of the Middle East. If the country collapses, it will have grave consequences for the stream of refugees to Europe and the Netherlands. With everything in her might, Somsen tries to boost the stability in this hectic theatre. For this portrait of the ambassador and her enthusiastic team, the film crew was given access behind the scenes for months.
