Touching documentary in which a Turkish mother and her mature daughter enter into a dialogue. They candidly discuss a clash of cultures and a grating struggle between two generations.
Actress and writer Nazmiye Oral discusses everything with her Turkish mother that they never used to talk about as a family. In stylised scenes, the women prove to be extremely candid. The viewer witnesses what the integration process within this Turkish family looks like; in the process, we understand what the result of this process is in the way of dialogue, incomprehension and alienation in the intimacy of immigrant families. Thus, the obvious pain this family feels regarding their daughter’s modern life assumes an accessible face.
