During the Egyptian revolution of 2011, Nada Ahmed decided the time was finally ripe to make her oldest dream come true: work in children’s theatre. Exactly four years after Mubarak’s ousting, this documentary draws an intimate portrait of a young woman fighting for freedom and independence in a society that seems caught between old structures and modernisation. Amidst political turmoil that has kept the country in a stranglehold for years, Nada laboriously tries to present herself as a dramatist. At the same time, in her private life she has to fight hard to remain faithful to her ideals.
