Lydia blijft

Director: Eline Helena Schellekens
Nine-year-old Lydia lives illegally in the Netherlands with her parents and little brother. Her mother is from Cameroon, her father from Nigeria. To avoid being found out and deported, she has already moved seven times. Time and again, Lydia has to change schools and leave behind her friends, and subsequently find new friends. She is completely fed up. In expressive, self-written and sung songs, Lydia expresses her anger and desires, while domestic scenes illustrate the strength and zest for life within the family.
