Inside the Chinese Closet

Director: Sophia Luvarà
In a desperate attempt to meet their parents’ expectations, in Shanghai gay Andy and lesbian Cherry put out all the stops to rope in someone for a marriage of convenience and a child.
Andy and Cherry are looking for love and happiness, but even in modern Shanghai this is not easy if you don’t fit in the hetero pigeon-hole. To meet their parents’ expectations, gay Andy is looking day and night for a lesbian woman he can marry and have a baby with. Lesbian Cherry is already married to a gay man. All she wants is a baby, but their quest turns out to be more complicated than expected. Clashes with parental expectations and with partners in love and marriages of convenience are myriad.
