The 22-year-old Kurdish-Turkish Dilan pays for her forbidden love for a boy from another village with her life. Her own brothers murder her. But according to tradition, this does not end here. This subdued, serene drama is set in the rural Kurdish southeast of Turkey, the director’s native region. Every year, five thousand women fall victim to honour killings.
