Images of Google Earth make up a virtual urban symphony in which anecdotal snippets from inhabitants of the Bijlmer district (Amsterdam) constitute the soundtrack.
Surveillance cameras, satellite software and digital maps make up a unique virtual urban symphony. The inanimate Google Earth images of the Bijlmer district (Amsterdam) turn into a vivid portrait of a neighbourhood in motion. Inhabitants can be heard on the soundtrack, but their stories are not finished. It is like pausing in a crowded square, only digitally: snippets of people’s lives dash past at random. But in this film you have to imagine these people yourself.
