Observing road movie leads us across Ethiopia, against the backdrop of a changing Africa. At a time when the sense of development aid is under debate, the dilemmas of the present-day private benefactor are outlined. On the one hand, we see the 94-year-old philanthropist Anita van Oldenborgh, who supports numerous aid programmes with a friendly couple. On the other Hermann and Harry, who are en route together for a charitable foundation from Urk. But: Harry also has a private project, a large dairy farm, set up with liberal support from the Dutch government. Do the Africans really still need the white Forengies?
