DementieEnDan

Director: Ireen van Ditshuyzen
Five demented people and their partners are closely followed over a period of two years. The emphasis is not only on the tragedy of the affliction, the irreversible damage to the brain and the urgent questions that emerge surrounding life’s end. The film also shows a triumph when a man, despite his illness, runs the half marathon in ninety minutes. And after being admitted to a nursing home, a piano player draws strength from her beloved instrument. Through music, touch and movement, contact is still possible for a long time.
