Documentary about Frans Timmermans’ European mission in Brussels. In the face of a Union that is gradually crumbling around him, the EU Commissioner tirelessly keeps striving for his European ideals.

Since November 2004 it is Frans Timmermans’ task, as the very first Vice-President of the European Commission, to tackle the proliferation of rules and regulations in Europe. He is soon faced with one of the most turbulent years the European Union has seen since its foundation, what with the refugee crisis, the Turkey deal, attacks in the heart of Europe and the dreaded Brexit. This documentary shows an enthusiastic, diplomatic Timmermans travelling the world in search of solutions for ever more complicated issues.
