De Baby

Director: Deborah van Dam
The Jewish baby Anneke is lodged with a Dutch foster family in 1942. Four years later, the family moves to America. They hardly ever discuss their Dutch period. In 2007, Anneke is approached by people from her past, including her Dutch ‘war brother’ Fred. In this revealing documentary, they try to bring back her early years; a time Anneke hardly remembers. But photos and documents that were believed lost shed a new light on the past.
