Tribute to the rural culture: companionship, love, work, future and infinite space and freedom. A year in the lives of two groups of close friends from Overijssel.

What is it like to grow up as a youngster in the country? For a year, from New Year to New Year, this documentary follows two groups of close friends from Overijssel: teenagers from Espelo and twenty-somethings from Nieuwleusen. It starts with carbide shooting on New Year’s Eve, followed by an Easter bonfire, rally cross events, the Breeding Stock Day and more. The film registers the rural culture without comment, thus showing what it is about: camaraderie, love, work, future and infinite space and freedom.
