The Dutch filmmaker Alex Pitstra is 25 when he receives a letter from his Tunisian father. He pays him a visit and is welcomed in Tunis as the prodigal son. But confrontations are bound to happen.
Dutch filmmaker Alex Pitstra’s Tunisian father used to make a living in the 1970s by seducing European tourists. Alex’mother also fell for his charms, but their relationship did not last long. Twenty-five years later, Alex receives a letter from his father and decides to pay him a visit. In Tunis, a warm welcome awaits him. But what to do when his father asks him for money? His search confronts Alex not only with cultural differences, but also with his relationship with his Dutch mother. What is his role as a son between two cultures?
