Colourful animation about a short tram ride through Amsterdam in the 1930s, demonstrating how the different lives of poor and rich citizens are intertwined.
Amsterdam, nearly a century ago. In this short animation, from the window of a tram making a trip through the city we observe the citizens, poor and rich, during their daily routine. In the tram, the different lives of the labourers and bourgeoisie briefly merge, as they are swept along through each other’s neighbourhoods: first the tidy city centre, then the grubby and lively slums. Outside the tram, we see fragments of how their lives are intertwined. Realised as part of the eleventh edition of Ultrakort, which releases short animation films in a large number of cinemas and movie theatres.
