Adaptation, based on A.F.Th. van der Heijden’s eponymous bestseller, revolving around his son Tonio’s fatal traffic accident and the acceptance of this loss.
On Whit Sunday 2010, 21-year-old Tonio dies in a traffic accident. His parents Adri and Mirjam are confronted with the worst nightmare possible. While Mirjam contends with a downward spiral, Adri seeks refuge in the only thing he is capable of at the time: delve in his memories and write. What happened to Tonio in the final hours and days preceding the fatal crash, and can any significance be found in this loss? Drama, based on A.F.Th. van der Heijden’s eponymous bestseller.
