Documentary about Seng Channeang, a Cambodian farmer fighting to safeguard her farm from rich land grabbers. She hopes her new-born daughter will once study law and fight for the rights of poor farmers.
In Cambodia, a small elite is making fast money by buying up arable land. They chase away the farmers living there and lay out sugar plantations, or they leave the plots fallow until the price is right. The young farmer Seng Channeang fights to keep her property and thus contribute to the local food security. She opposes the land grabbers, cooperates with other small farmers and tries to sell her crops. Meanwhile, she hopes her new-born daughter will once study law and fight for the rights of poor farmers.
