Music, tattoos, graffiti. In the mining district, they are imbued with the mining past. What is this bond that youngsters in the south of Limburg have with a past that was completely wiped out and their parents and grandparents were so reticent about? Portrait of young people who fifty years after the closure of the coalmines are still proud of a past they don’t really know, but which has a strong influence on their looks, life and identity. Each in their own way, they look for ways of keeping the memory of the mines alive.
