Short, subtle film about thirty-something Nora, who has had a tough year. It remains vague what is exactly going on. And who is that man she keeps running into?
When Nora meets her friend Yuka at a bar, their conversation makes clear that Nora had a nasty experience one year ago. Although Yuka tries to support and cheer up Nora, the latter slinks off and goes home. It remains a mystery what is exactly going on, but a man that keeps reappearing in her life seems to be involved. For his mysterious short drama, Nico van denBrink was inspired by Selma Robinson’s short story The Departure (published in Harper’s Magazine in October 1932).
