When the Jewish beachcomber Salomon tries his luck with his metal detector on the mud flats at low tide, he comes across an unusual object. His curiosity is stronger than his historical sense and when he has unearthed the treasure, he is no longer alone. He saves himself from the subsequent bizarre incident - but then fate strikes after all.
