Tough Jackie is completely surprised when Oopjen Coppit, the subject of a famous Rembrandt portrait in the Rijksmuseum, suddenly comes to life and stands before her. Together, they embark on a special mission.
Twelve-year-old Jackie feels at home in the Rijksmuseum, where her mother works as a curator. When Jackie walks by Rembrandt’s famous portraits of Marten Soolmans and Oopjen Coppit after closing time, something miraculous happens: Oopjen comes to life! She is looking for her sister Aeltje, who is thought to be lost. The tough Jackie secretly takes Oopjen home to join her on a quest for her sister’s portrait.
