By a confluence of events, three young people drive criss-cross through fairy-like and contemporary Holland, on their way to Geldrop. Fleeing from real life and looking for deliverance.
'This is not an everyday story. So that you know. If you don't understand it at times, you'll just have to rely on... well...it'll be fine', says Joke in the voice-over. Joke is quite a normal woman with a family in Leidschendam. 'I put my children to bed, as I'm supposed to', she emphasises. Still, Joke makes a non-standard choice, which makes her end up in a car late at night. By a confluence of events, she meets two other drifters on a remote road. The strange girl is silent; the man wants to go to Geldrop. The three young strangers make a symbiotic road trip through both a fairy-like and a hyperrealistic Holland. Nobody asks any questions, although in time some things are revealed about the characters. About their motives to choose anonymously for the road and look for deliverance. Thijs Römer's feature debut. His scenario is full of imaginative, visual excursions and perverse dialogues, like: 'How many advertising campaigns do you know? Only fifteen?!' 'But I do know twenty-two different horse species.'
