Due to numerous setbacks and lots of red tape, what was planned as a single documentary about the ambitious renovation of the Rijksmuseum became an epic drama in four episodes with the suspense of a thriller. Five years after the projected opening, the masterpieces can be retrieved from the depot and Holland’s cultural treasury reopens its doors. With a keen eye to detail, Oeke Hoogendijk registered and composed this report of a truly historical renovation.
