Experimental film poem about the experiences of a black man. By means of film, photography, animation, photography and archive footage, he examines what ‘blackness’ means, on various levels.
This experimental film poem examines what it means to be in this world as a black man. By combining personal and wistful memories with images we have frequently seen on television, a tableau arises that works on both an introspective and a political level. In the process, the filmmaker explores his own cultural identity, but at the same time wonders why he feels the need in the first place to make ‘blackness’the subject of his work.
