The young gymnast ace Timo and his handicapped father Ward share one dream: winning gold at the Olympic Games. Timo's feelings for physiotherapist Irene reduce his chances of winning.
Young gymnast Timo is a golden promise who knows he is supported, cherished and loved by his handicapped father Ward. Father and son have given up everything for the Olympic mission: work, school, social contacts, comfort. When physiotherapist Irene touches Timo and opens the door to a world completely unknown to him, this is disastrous for his athletic motivation. In his collected feature debut, Rogier Hesp makes the two characters clash in equally composed and inevitable fashion: one is played by a born actor (Hensema), the other by new face David Wristers, major league gymnast and former Dutch Junior Champion.
