Assen, 1948. In prison, someone makes an ultimate attempt to coerce the notorious former commander of Kamp Westerbork to confess. Confrontational short film with authentic footage of the transports, coloured especially for the film, about a black page in Dutch history.
For years, Albert Gemmeker was a commander at Kamp Westerbork. In Assen prison, Mauritz Frankenhuis confronts the former SS officer with photographs, documents and a secret diary, to coerce him to confess. Was he a war criminal? Gemmeker denies most emphatically and claims he had just followed commands. When he finds out his questioner’s identity, the interrogation takes a dramatic turn. Short film with authentic footage of the transports, coloured especially for the film.
