Frank Zappa: Phase II - The Big Note

Director: Frank Scheffer
Music documentary about Frank Zappa (1940-1993), focussing on his projects in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In those years, Zappa and his rock band The Mothers of Invention worked on the album We're Only in It for the Money (1968) and later on the psychedelic, experimental road movie 200 Motels (1971). Through interviews and archive footage, Scheffer depicts a crucial phase in Zappa’s career. Sequel to Frank Zappa: The Present Day Composer Refuses to Die (2000), Scheffer’s first film about this legendary musical phenomenon.
