Documentary film, made with the use of video techniques, about the one-thousand-year history of water management in Holland. A simulated computer programme provides answers to Van Gasteren's questions about everything associated more or less with the Dutch battle against the threatening water. Incorporating historical footage and interviews, he finds answers to his questions involving dykes, rivers, the flood disaster, the Union of District Water Boards etc.
